Is my quote fair?
Paste the estimate. We find the total and the system, compare it with what that job runs in your area, and tick off what a complete quote should include.
What makes a quote fair
A fair quote is specific. It names the make, model and size of the new unit, says what happens to the old one, includes the permit, and spells out the code items your home needs. Two quotes with the same total can be very different jobs, which is why the checklist matters as much as the price.

Common questions
Is my quote stored?
No, unless you tick the box to add it to the local price data. Then we keep only the system, size, price, the first three digits of your ZIP code and which line items were included. Names, addresses, phone numbers and company names are never stored.
What does "model estimate" mean?
The range comes from our cost model: online list prices plus DOE installation costs scaled to local trade wages. Once at least five real quotes exist for your area and system, we also show what other people were quoted.
Why does my quote land above the range?
Common reasons: dealer-only brands, a bigger or higher-efficiency unit, code upgrades (venting, gas line, expansion tank, electrical), moving the unit, or same-day emergency service. The checklist shows which of those your quote mentions.
Can I upload a PDF or photo?
